Shein Taking Over the U.K.: Revenue Jumps 32% Amid U.S. Headwinds

Shein is storming the U.K. fashion scene. The fast-fashion giant pulled in £2 billion ($2.8B) in revenue in 2024, up 32% from £1.55 billion the year before, according to filings with Companies House. While Shein usually keeps its numbers under wraps, the U.K. filing reveals the brand’s growing footprint—and profits, which hit £68 million.

With U.S. tariffs and shifting consumer sentiment putting pressure on its home turf, Shein has shifted its sights to Europe—particularly the U.K., where it’s gaining traction with Gen Z shoppers. The company bolstered its presence by acquiring Missguided and launching a fund to support local designers and startups.

Marketing efforts in the U.K. seem to be paying off: sales growth surged nearly 50% in May year-over-year. Shein is also going offline to boost visibility, opening two new offices in King’s Cross and Manchester, a popup shop in Liverpool, and even taking a Christmas bus tour across 12 cities.

Despite the U.K. boom, the U.S. remains Shein’s biggest stage—but for now, the fast-fashion titan is proving it can thrive even when tariffs try to rain on its parade.
